1. Seal (very important ), PH system is high resistance input, note the sealing of the following two parts:

1.1 The joint between electrode and cable depends on the sealing of the electrode shell structure.

For PH electrode of plastic shell, use teflon tape to seal the thread connection (3/4”NPTM).

For PH electrode of glass shell, use sealing washer to seal the thread connection (PG13.5), do not use teflon tape to seal the thread connection of glass shell.

1.2 The joint position of the PH electrode cable wires and the transmitter should be sealed to prevent the moisture invading the inside of PH transmitter.

 

2. Installation attentions

2.1 PH electrode cable wires are specialized wires, do not use the ordinary cable wires to joint PH electrode cable wires for connecting PH transmitter.

2.2 Do not install PH transmitter near to equipment with strong electromagnetic interference

2.3 The cabinet where PH transmitter is installed should be grounding.

2.4 PH electrode cable and AC power cable are not allowed to pass through the same routing tube.

2.5 If there is electromagnetic interference around PH electrode cable routing, advise to use metal shielding tube for routing the PH electrode cable.

   

3. PH sensor calibration

3.1 Considering measuring accuracy, user can calibrate PH sensor regularly.

3.2 The new replacement PH electrode needs to be calibrated ( the complete set of PH instruments have been calibrated before leaving factory, if it’s stock time is not long, not need calibrate PH sensor )

 

4. PH sensor storage attentions

4.1 Before leaving factory, PH electrode has a protective cap which contain the liquid solution of 3mol KCL and a cotton ball soaked to keep the sensitive membrane in moist state. ( If the the sensitive membrane become dry, the measuring accuracy will be poor, and response become slow )

4.2 When PH electrode is not used, use the clean water to cleanout the sensitive membrane, then insert the electrode 3mol KCl solution to keep the sensitive membrane in moist state.

4.3 Keep the connection end of the PH sensor cable wires clean and dry

4.4 “Measure” wire and “REF” wire can not be short circuit

 

5. PH electrode activation

If PH electrode sensitive membrane become dry, it must be immersed in 3 moL KCL solution for 24 hours to activate the sensitive membrane, otherwise the accuracy of calibration and measurement would be poor.

 

6. PH electrode washing

If PH electrode is contaminated, need to washing, different contaminants has different washing method. Please refer to following table about PH electrode washing method:

Immerse the sensitive membrane in the liquid abluent solution of 30℃ around till the grease is dissolved, then use the clean water to cleanout the electrode.

Calcium deposits or Metal hydroxide

Immerse the sensitive membrane in the solution of 10% HCL till the contaminants is dissolved, then use the clean water to cleanout the electrode.

Sulfide precipitation

Immerse the sensitive membrane in the mixed solution of 10% HCL and Thiourea till the contaminants is dissolved, then use the clean water to cleanout the electrode.

Protein attachments

Immerse the sensitive membrane in the mixed solution of 10% HCL and pepsase till the contaminants is dissolved, then use the clean water to cleanout the electrode.

Note!

1.    Don’t use the hard brush to scrub the electrode’s sensitive membrane

2.    Prevent the electrode’s sensitive membrane from damage during washing
