Le principe est de d\u00e9tecter la force de Coriolis qui force une paire de tubes \u00e0 partir du d\u00e9bit massique interne du fluide.  Une nouvelle force - la force de Coriolis - appara\u00eet lorsque deux conditions sont remplies : (1) vibration \u00e0 fr\u00e9quence normale dans une paire de tubes coud\u00e9s, (2) \u00e9coulement de fluide dans les tubes. Cette force a \u00e9t\u00e9 produite par la synth\u00e8se de la force de vibration et de la force d'\u00e9coulement du fluide dans les tubes. Les tubes sont sym\u00e9triques par rapport \u00e0 l'axe central parce que la force les contraint. Deux capteurs de d\u00e9placement situ\u00e9s sur les c\u00f4t\u00e9s des tubes d\u00e9tectent la force et \u00e9mettent des signaux \u00e9lectriques.
